Discover a Different Side of Okinawa!

Get ready for three days of adventure in Okinawa’s wild north! Campers will trek to waterfalls, kayak through mangroves, explore the jungle, and spend two nights surrounded by nature.

Along the way, they’ll share the adventure with local Japanese kids—taking on challenges, playing together, and making new friends naturally through the experience.

It’s more than just a camp. It’s a chance for kids to step outside their everyday world, discover a different side of Okinawa, and create memories with friends from different backgrounds.

FAQ

1. What ages can join the camp?

Jungle Adventure Camp is open to children ages 8–16.

2. Does my child need to speak Japanese?

Not at all! The camp is conducted in English, and no Japanese language skills are required. Children naturally connect through activities, games, and shared adventures.

3. Where will the children stay?

We will stay for two nights at Yanbaru Manabi no Mori in northern Okinawa. Children sleep in comfortable indoor accommodations—not tents—and meals are provided at the facility.

4. Is transportation included?

Yes. Round-trip transportation from Chatan is included in the camp fee. Pick-up and drop-off will be at Araha Beach.

5. What meals are included?

All meals during the camp are included: 2 breakfasts, 3 lunches, and 2 dinners. Please let us know in advance about any food allergies or dietary requirements.

6. What if my child has never been to an overnight camp before?

That’s absolutely okay! Many children join KOA Camp for their first overnight experience. Our camp leaders help children settle in, make friends, and feel comfortable throughout the camp.

7. How do you keep children safe during activities?

Safety is our top priority. Activities are supervised by experienced staff, and specialized outdoor activities such as kayaking are conducted with appropriate safety equipment and guidance.

8. What happens if my child gets sick or injured?

Our staff will provide immediate care and contact parents or guardians when necessary. For emergencies, we will seek appropriate medical assistance and notify you as soon as possible.

9. How can I contact my child during camp?

Parents will receive emergency contact information before departure. To help children fully enjoy the camp experience, we generally encourage them to spend the three days away from phones and focus on their friends and activities.

10. What should my child bring?

A detailed packing list will be sent to participating families before camp. Personal clothing, toiletries, appropriate footwear, and other basic items will be required. Activity equipment is provided.
