Join us for an unforgettable adventure at our Spring Camp in Okinawa, designed specifically to be a blend of adventure and international connection!

 

This exciting program offers a mix of fun activities, including a lively sports festival, delicious barbecue gatherings, and creative studio projects. But it’s more than just fun—it’s a fantastic opportunity for cultural exchange!

Campers will have the chance to bond with local Japanese children, learn about each other’s cultures, and build lifelong friendships. We will explore Okinawa's beautiful scenery, work together on team challenges, and immerse ourselves in new experiences.

FAQ

1. How old do I have to be to participate?

 

Those who are 6 to 17 years old are welcome to participate. Majority of our participants are within the 7 to 12 age group.

 

2. Will everything be in English during the camp?

 

The program is be conducted by foreign teachers and leaders in English.

 

3. What is the English level of the Japanese participants?

 

The English level of Japanese kids vary from Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. In the case that some kids struggle with language barrier, our team is there for translation support. Japanese kids with more advanced English are also very helpful! 

 

4. Are there any restrictions for local kids such as "no Japanese" during the camp?

 

We do not have any restrictions. The most important thing is for the children to enjoy the camp and exchange each other’s cultures. 

 

5. What is the purpose of having American kids interact with local children?

 

Interaction with local children is more than just language learning; it is a valuable experience that will greatly nurture your child's humanity and social skills. We believe that this will be a great asset for them in the future as they acquire an international perspective and flexible thinking.

 

6. How do you handle injuries and sickness during camp?

 

If your child gets injured or become sick during the camp, we will take care of them at our affiliated medical facilities or at a nearby medical facility if you are in the middle of an activity. One of the features of KOA Camp is that children can proceed at their own pace, and are not forced to participate in all of the activities.

 

7. What does my child have to bring at camp?

 

We will send you a list of what to bring and the schedule of events once your application is confirmed.

 

8. What are the cancellation fees?

  • 30 days before camp: 80% refund

  • 17-29 days before camp: 70% refund

  • 11-16 days before camp: 60% refund

  • 10 days before camp: 50% refund 

  • Less than 10 days before camp: 0% refund
